Bringing Business and Community Leaders Together
The Government Relations Committee brings together business and community leaders from our area who volunteer their time to focus on the legislative initiatives of Traverse Connect and the Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance.
The committee monitors legislative and policy issues at the local, state, and federal levels and discusses the impact of these issues on business and economic development in the Grand Traverse Region. The committee may draft and recommend to the Board positions on issues to drive advocacy and involvement.
The Government Relations Committee is committed to the following goals:
- Education of investor membership (including but not limited to elections, legislation, ballot proposals, calls to action)
- Support and advocate for investment and job creation in the Grand Traverse Region
- Support and advocate for simplified regulatory requirements on businesses
The Government Relations Committee meets on the first Friday of the month from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. in the Blue Room on the first floor of Traverse Connect.
