Traverse Connect, along with its community partner members in the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee, are presenting the second Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Summit titled, “Creating Equity and Opportunity in the Workplace” on Thursday, March 10 from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Great Wolf Lodge Conference Center in Traverse City. The Summit will include three speaker sessions, a working lunch session, a panel discussion, and networking for a day of learning and listening.
The Summit will offer an approach towards implementing a strong welcoming and affirming culture in the five-county region. Through this day’s discussions and presentations, participants will gain an understanding of what a welcoming and affirming workplace culture means and why it is important to area businesses and the community’s economic growth. Small businesses in the Grand Traverse region will hear from experts from leading organizations, including Interlochen Center for the Arts, Hagerty, Disability Network of Northern Michigan, UpBound At Work, Trion Solutions, and Aleria – a national leader in diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
The 2022 DEIB Summit will include five learning sessions for all attendees:

- Untapped Talent & Resources with Disability Network Northern Michigan
- Demystifying Inclusion: Focus Areas for Measurable Impact, Leveraging Technology to Drive an Engaged Culture
- Leveraging Technology to Drive an Engaged Culture
- Lead With Action: Steps You Can Use in Your Business Today
Tickets to attend Creating Equity and Opportunity in the Workplace: The Traverse Connect 2022 Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Summit are $125 for the public and $85 for Traverse Connect investor businesses and their employees. Registrants may also purchase additional tickets to be given as scholarships to community members, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
