Traverse Connect allocated $350,000 from 2022/23 Michigan Budget
Traverse Connect and our partners in the Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance (NMCA) celebrated yesterday’s signing of the Fiscal Year 2023 budget by Governor Gretchen Whitmer, which included funding for our talent attraction initiative, Michigan’s Creative Coast. With the funds allocated to the organization through a Michigan Enhancement Grant, we will further enhance and extend the reach of its two-year-old program.
Michigan’s Creative Coast highlights the Grand Traverse Region as an exceptional place to live, explore, and fulfill your career. Its mission is to advance the economic vitality of the Grand Traverse Region by elevating its innovative and entrepreneurial ecosystem; attracting new people, new ideas, and new businesses; and placing the region on the map as an attractive career destination.
“Traverse Connect took the bold step to launch the Michigan’s Creative Coast talent program in the summer of 2020 and immediately found success with young professionals seeking to make changes in their quality of life and career trajectory,” said our president and CEO, Warren Call. “The growth of this initiative, thanks to a grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the Michigan Film and Digital Media Office, will continue thanks to this grant from the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, the MEDC, and the Michigan Strategic Fund.”
Michigan’s Creative Coast provides relocation information for individuals, entrepreneurs, and startups through its Michigan’s Creative Coast Job Board, Northern Navigators ambassador program, and in-depth website offering resource-rich overviews of local real estate, child care, entrepreneurial services, arts and culture resources, and local employers.
