This proposal will allow the school district to levy the statutory rate of not to
exceed 18 mills on all property, except principal residence and other property
exempted by law, required for the school district to receive its revenue per
pupil foundation allowance.

Michigan Proposal 1 will update and expand the Michigan Natural Resource Trust Fund so that it can continue supporting the places that make our state unique – from Great Lakes beaches and public lands to our trails, paths, parks, and playgrounds. The amendment will safeguard a constitutionally protected revenue source for conservation and recreation for future generations.

The road millage will fund maintenance and repair of existing roads within the county-wide public road network. No funds will be allocated to adding new roads or increasing capacity on existing roads. This millage will provide funding to the Grand Traverse County Road Commission, Traverse City, the Village of Kingsley and the Village of Fife Lake. All units of Government will be funded a share of the millage based on their taxable value. The total revenue generated is forecasted at approximately $5,200,000/year.
