Transportation Planner for the Bay Area Transportation Authority (BATA)
How long have you lived in the Grand Traverse area?
About 6 years, moved up from Rochester Hills after graduating from Wayne State University.
What is your favorite thing about living/working in the Traverse City area?
Living in the city, I love being able to bike or walk to friends, the beach and the grocery store after work.
What do you do for fun?
A big fan of hikes at the commons or bike rides on the trails!
How do you get involved in the community?
I currently serve on the Traverse City Planning Commission, President of the Traverse Heights Neighborhood Association, Friends of the Traverse Area District Library Board and a community representative on the Traverse Area Association of Realtors Board
What is your favorite local business (restaurant, shop, service,etc.) and why?
Rose & Fern Café / Stockist Coffee for sure. It’s a great to have an awesome café right here in the neighborhood.
What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
In college I had a temporary job working for Data Driven Detroit where I would take photos of homes, offices, restaurants in the City of Detroit and then match that with city tax records.
Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
Growing up, the computer game Sim City is what actually began my interest in an urban planning degree
What is something you learned in the last week?
To request an absentee ballot with the City of Traverse City, you can take a photo of your application and email it to the city!
How can other TCYP members support you (personally or professionally)?
I always appreciate feedback on how transit in our community works for residents, and also where there is room for improvement. Any and all feedback welcome!
