What is your favorite thing about living and working in the Traverse City area?
The concept of having so much nature and four seasons available, paired with a really fun small city that has great local dining, wine, shopping, culture, etc.
What do you do for fun?
I am an avid skier and ski coach/instructor, as well as a cyclist, hiker, frequent traveler, and a very poor golfer.
How do you get involved in the community?
I currently serve on a few boards, including the Professional Ski Instructors of America/American Association of Snowboard Instructors – Central board of directors for both the Education Foundation and the administrative board, in an advisory role to the Crystal Community Ski Club board, and volunteer for other organizations, such as TART Trails.
What is your favorite local business and why?
There are so many to choose from! I’m a big Oryana fan for the products, the values, and the all-around community asset.
What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
Without a doubt, ski instructing in southern Indiana on what used to be a farm that was made into a ski area!
Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
One of my favorite foods is Kale! I guess it goes with the territory of years of vegetarianism.
What is something you learned in the last week?
I learned that, if I exhaust myself enough first, I actually can sleep on a plane!
How can other TCYP members support you ?
I think TCYP provides a platform to make local connections, both personally and professionally, that can help in various areas. TCYP also provides insight into the local community that a “newcomer” such as myself may not have.
