How long have you lived in the Grand Traverse area?
30+ years in Cadillac, but I have worked in TC for the last two years.
What is your favorite thing about living/working in the Traverse City area?
Northern Michigan is beautiful, and there are so many ways to enjoy it. I love being outside.
What do you do for fun?
I play hockey in the winter, and I work on my yard in the summer. I also love to read and to travel.
How do you get involved in the community?
I serve on a committee with Habitat GTR, and I’m on the board of the New Hope Center in Cadillac. I have also been a youth leader at my church for several years.
What is your favorite local business (restaurant, shop, service,etc.) and why?
Mundos. I love the atmosphere, and the coffee is fabulous!
What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
Milking cows (I grew up on a dairy farm).
Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
I spent a year after college traveling the world and thought I’d end up living overseas somewhere.
What is something you learned in the last week?
How to schedule text messages. I just found out that’s a thing.
How can other TCYP members support you (personally or professionally)?
Obviously I’d love referrals for people who need mortgages or refinance, but I’m also looking to just expand my network. I’d love to meet up with people one-on-one or in small groups and build some relationships.
