What is your day job?
I’m a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones. I help my clients invest, plan for retirement, and create strategies to achieve financial goals.
How long have you lived in the Grand Traverse area?
This will be my second year living in Traverse City. I grew up downstate, near Flint, but have had family up here for quite some time. I made the permanent move as soon as I could.
What is your favorite aspect of living/working in the Traverse City area?
The outdoors. I try to be outside as much as I can, whether it’s snowing or mid-July. The green forests, blue waters, and hills make for great hikes and beautiful views.
What do you do for fun?
I like to hike, run, and spend time at the beach during the summer. In addition, I value time with my family and friends.
How do you get involved in the community?
I volunteer at local events with TCYP when I have the opportunity and am an active member of the Benzie Sunrise Rotary Club. I’ve been able to meet so many amazing people through my role as a Rotarian, learn so much about my community, and provide support to people in need.
What is your favorite local business (restaurant, shop, service, etc.) and why?
It’s so hard to choose a favorite but I’m a proud fan of Moomers Homemade Ice Cream off of N Long Lake Road. It’s the best ice cream!
What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
I wouldn’t say it was a “weird” job, but I was a full-time nanny for 3 years to the best little girl. She is still a big part of my life, I’ll be able to watch her perform at her dance recital this month!
Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
I want to jump out of a plane this summer! It’s on my bucket list and I’m sure it’d be the best view there is of Lake MI.
What is something you learned in the last week?
I learned how to crochet last weekend. I used to crochet when I was younger, but it had been so long that I forgot how. After looking up a YouTube video I was able to stitch a potholder. It always feels good to finish a project, even if it’s small!
How can other TCYP members support you (personally or professionally)?
I love making connections with others and am always looking to meet new people. Whether it’s meeting for a cup of coffee or grabbing lunch downtown, I’d be happy to chat. I’m also here to address any financial needs or objectives that one might have. Whether that’s wanting to get started with investing, questions about the different kinds of investments, retirement planning, life insurance, or simply receiving a no-obligation portfolio review, I’m equipped to help.
