Gaylord manufacturer, Mayfair Plastics, Inc., recently responded to the need for medical personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers and first responders.
President of Mayfair Plastics Inc, Scott Weir, announced that his company developed production tooling to facilitate the mass production of cleanable/reusable face shields. These shields are critical for medical staff and first responders. Nationally, the need for reusable PPE is creating new opportunities for companies to support healthcare workers and community members. Here in Northern Michigan, Mayfair Plastics responded to answer the call from Munson Healthcare as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has increased in recent weeks. Mayfair produced prototypes that met the requirements, and its employees are now working to fulfill an order for 500 shields.
Kudos to Mayfair Plastics for working together with Munson Healthcare to develop the production tooling necessary to produce essential PPE materials for our Northern Michigan communities.
